Bikers Speed Limit Imposed

The National Road Safety Board has announced that speed barriers will be imposed for motor cyclers in order to control the on going huge motor cycle accidents.

The National Road Safety head Sisira Gothagoda said that it would normally be around 70 kilometers per hour out of the town and 50 km per hour inside the city.

Regulation of Gazette Notification has been arranged to publish through the Ministry of Transport.

He mentioned more deaths and accidents happen when the speed limit goes high.

In the past five months alone, 514 major motorcycle accidents and 534 deaths have been reported.

Also, more than 3.5 million motorcycles have been registered in the Motor Vehicle Registration Department till today.
