The National Identity Card application must be submitted with the quality standards of the International Civil Aviation Agency from September, said Viyani Gunatilake.

Those who apply for National Identity Cards after 1st September will have to take a photo according to this notice and complete the application.

These photographs can only be obtained in photography studio centers which registered by the Department of Registration of Persons.

Commissioner General of the Registration of the Persons has stated that International Civil Aviation Services will carry out international standards for ensuring the identity of the people.

Meanwhile, the new electronic national identity card will be distributed from October.

The new Electronic Identity Card will include biological data, finger identification and various other information in line with international standards

These electronic national identity cards can be obtained from October.
